The Totara Foundation

The Totara Foundation exists to ensure the continuance of the availability of excellent hospice care for all of the neighbourhoods across South and South East Auckland.  As such The Totara Foundation operates as the supporting trust for Totara Hospice South Auckland.

Board of Trustee members are business and community leaders. As Trustees they work to ensure a ‘future hospice focus’ via three key functions. First via the stewardship of investments and resources for the long term sustainability of Totara Hospice, ensuring services are available in your community for decades to come.  Second, by enhancing as necessary, the immediate ability of Totara Hospice to provide facility and home based holistic palliative care services to the terminally ill and their families within any one year and third, by raising awareness of hospice palliative care within the community.

The Totara Foundation and Totara Hospice have different functions but are fully aligned in their belief that while death is inevitable, dying unsupported is unacceptable.
